Carolyn D. Palmer

About the artist,

Over the past 20 years, Carolyn Palmer has emerged as one of the world’s most skilled and talented sculptors. Her ability to capture the true essence of her subjects has often left even other artists in near disbelief. She has now cemented her place internationally as a profoundly gifted artist.

Here are just some of Ms. Palmer’s notable achievements (other than Popes Francis):

Jefferson Profile-1.jpg

Thomas Jefferson - 2004

Commissioned for the lobby of the prestigious Jefferson Center in Syracuse New York. Ms. Palmer’s Jefferson is nothing short of a master work, rivaling any other rendering of America’s third president and primary author of the Declaration of Independence.

Eleanor & Franklin Roosevelt – 2012

Commissioned for the FDR Presidential Library & Museum in Hyde Park, New York. Ms. Palmer’s larger-than-life busts of the Roosevelts greet more than 890,000 visitors to the FDR Library each year. “... these are the finest sculptures of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt to be found anywhere in the world.” Tarky Lombardi, Jr. (former chairman of the New York State Senate Committe on the Arts and Cultural Resources)

Lucille Ball – 2016

Commissioned for the Lucille Ball Park in Celoron, New York. Ms. Palmer’s rendering of the iconic “Lucy” was universally praised, receiving worldwide recognition, especially for the way the legendary actress’s personality emanates from the work of art. Testament to Ms. Palmer’s astonishing talent, she “unanimously” won the national competition among 68 sculptors to create the commemorative life-size sculpture to be installed as the centerpiece of Ms. Ball’s hometown park.

Frank Sinatra – 2021

Commissioned by the town of Hoboken, NJ for the Frank Sinatra Park, located along the Hudson River with the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. Ms. Palmer’s portrayal of “Ol’ Blue Eyes” is truly remarkable, drawing unending visitors who marvel at the laconic ease in which he is depicted, comfortably leaning against a permanently illuminated city light post. NBC Sports highlighted the Sinatra sculpture in one of their ‘fade-outs’ during an NFL Sunday Night Football broadcast on October 13, 2024, seen by over 21 million viewers.
